A large southern native elm with a broad upright vase-shaped habit; has shown resistant to Dutch elm disease; foliage is small and thick; ideal as a street tree or a shade tree for larger landscapes; sets seeds in fall, rather than spring
Cedar Elm has dark green foliage throughout the season. The small serrated pointy leaves turn yellow in fall. The small leaves give the tree a neat, clean appearance and don’t even need to be raked in the fall because they compost in place. A great Texas native shade tree that attracts butterflies.
